When you select the Assessments module from the main navigation menu on the left, you are taken to your Drafts Assessments page.

General Information

  • This page contains all of your draft assessments, including those that have been sent to you by other teachers and administrators.

  • Organize your draft assessments with folders. Learn more about creating and using assessment folders here.

  • Begin creating an assessment from this page by selecting Create Assessment in the upper right-hand corner.

  • Select any assessment to open the assessment builder to edit the content of that assessment.

My Folders

When you land on the Drafts Assessment Page, you are in your My Folders > All section. This is the home for:

  • Assessments and assessment folders you have created or cloned.

  • Assessments that have been sent to you from another teacher.

  • Unlocked assessments that have been sent to you from an administrator.

💡 Tip: Any locked assessment or shared assessment folder that has been sent to you by an administrator is listed in your Shared With Me section.

Assessment Folders

Don't have any assessment folders yet? See how to create and use assessment folders.

  • Your assessment folders are listed in alpha-numeric order.

  • Selecting the ellipsis menu to the right of a folder allows you to Edit or Delete the folder.

Individual Assessments

  • Assessments that have not been placed in a folder are listed in order of creation.

  • Select any assessment to open the assessment builder to edit the content of that assessment.

  • Select the ellipsis menu to the right of any assessment to see the following options based on the assessment type.

Each option is outlined below including the types of assessment to which they apply: Rubric (R), Advanced (A), and Simple (S). Related articles are linked to each assessment type.

  • Assign (All): Assign an assessment directly from the ellipsis rather than from within the assessment itself.

  • Preview (R, A, S): Preview an assessment as a student would see it.

  • Print (A, S): Print Advanced or Simple assessments from the ellipsis menu. Rubrics are printed from another location.

  • Print Answer Key (A, S): Print answer keys for Advanced and Simple assessments.

  • Clone (All): Clone an assessment.

  • Edit Details (All): Edit the title and type (category) of the assessment.

  • Send Copy (All): Send a copy of the assessment to another user. Please note, this process looks a bit different for a teacher or administrator.

  • Delete (All): Delete your assessment. Please read the important details in this article before deleting a draft assessment.

❓ What about Plus (+) Assessments? Why aren't they listed here? Plus assessments are never actually in draft form since they are added directly to the gradebook.

Shared With Me

The Shared With Me > All section of your Drafts Assessment Page is the home for:

  • Locked assessments that have been sent to you by an administrator.

  • Assessment folders that have been shared with you by an administrator.

Shared Assessment Folders

  • The shared assessment folders are listed in alpha-numeric order.

  • Assessment folders can only be shared by administrator accounts in Otus, and access is managed by the account that shared the folder.

Individual Locked Assessments

  • Any locked assessment that has been sent to you is listed in chronological order based on when it was sent.

  • Each assessment has a paper airplane icon followed by a padlock icon. Hovering over the paper airplane icon will show you who sent the assessment. The padlock indicates that this is a locked assessment.

  • Select the ellipsis menu to the right of an assessment to access the following options based on the type of assessment:

Each option is outlined below including the types of assessment(s) to which they apply: Rubric (R), Advanced (A), and Simple (S).

If you are in a shared assessment folder:

  • You will not see the Delete option because you cannot delete an assessment from a shared folder.

  • Do you see an option that says "Clone to My Folders"? That means the administrator that shared the folder has given permission to clone the assessment. If you clone the assessment, it will appear in your My Folders section.
