⚙️ How It Works

  • When you log in to Otus, your Activity Dashboard loads as your home page. It gives you a bird's-eye view of how your district is using Otus through interactive charts, making it easy to spot trends and monitor platform engagement across your schools.

❗ The Activity Dashboard is the landing page for Main Admin and Admin accounts. The Teacher account has a different home page.

  • The District module is your hub for managing people and groups across the district. From here you can:

    • View all Sites (schools) in your district

    • Search and manage Teachers and Students district-wide

    • Create, edit, or delete Student Groups and Teacher Groups

    • Manage Recognitions available across the district

  • The Analytics module is where you go to analyze student data at scale. As a Main Admin, you have access to:

    • 3rd Party analytics

    • Attendance reports

    • Recognitions reports

    • Assessment analytics

    • Standards analytics
Reports including Query, Historical, and Report Cards

    • Exports (Main Admin only)

🏫 Classes

  • The Classes module gives you visibility into every class in the district. You can view student rosters, open student profiles, read Class Board posts, send messages through Mailbox, and manage class settings — for any class, across any school.

📖 Lessons

  • The Lessons module is where you can build and assign lessons, as well as view lessons that have been assigned in any class across the district.

  • The Bookshelf module is your district-level resource library. Upload and share documents, links, and files — and view the bookshelf for any class in the district.

  • The Assessments module gives you full control over the assessment lifecycle. From here you can:

    • Create and edit assessments

    • Assign assessments to classes across the district

    • Grade submitted student work

    • Share folders of assessments with teachers

    • Send locked copies of assessments to ensure assessment integrity

  • The Gradebook gives you two ways to view student performance, for any class in the district:

    • Assessments View: shows scores across all graded assessments

    • Standards View: shows performance based on standards, aggregated across all relevant assessments

🗂️ Plans

  • The Plans module allows you to create and manage individualized learning plans for students and track their progress throughout the year. (Contact your Client Experience Partner to add Plans to your district.)

✍️ Blog

  • The Blog module lets you view and engage with blog posts for any class across the district — supporting communication between teachers and students at scale.

  • The Control Center is exclusive to the Main Admin account. It's where you manage the district-level settings that power the entire platform:

    • Grading — set grading scales, mastery settings, and district standards

    • Admin Users — add admin users and manage their permissions

    • Uploads — bulk upload family information or student profile pictures

    • Academic Sessions — set or modify grading periods and academic sessions

    • Integrations — enable or disable third-party integrations like Turnitin
