🎯 Purpose

The Control Center is the administrative command hub available exclusively to Main Admin users in Otus. It provides a centralized location to manage the district-wide settings that power how Otus functions — from grading configurations and academic sessions to user permissions and third-party integrations. Rather than navigating across multiple areas of the platform, administrators can access and adjust all foundational settings from one place.

💡 Who is this for? The Control Center is available to Main Admin users only. These settings affect the entire district, so access is intentionally limited to ensure consistency and data integrity across all schools and classrooms.

The Control Center puts district-level configuration in one place, giving Main Admins the control they need to keep Otus running smoothly for everyone.

Grading

Configure grading scales, mastery settings (Mean, Mode, Most Recent, Highest, Decaying Average), and district standards — including custom standards and standards tags.

Add co-admins to Otus and adjust their permissions to control what they can access and manage.

Uploads

Bulk upload family contact information and student profile pictures to save time and keep records current.

Set date ranges for grading periods to ensure assessments are aligned to the correct time frames.

Enable or disable specific platform integrations based on your district's needs. (LTI tools)

Customize how third-party assessment data appears, including who can view the data and how it is shown.


⚙️ How It Works

The Control Center is organized into distinct sections, each managing a specific area of district configuration. Main Admins can navigate between sections using the left-hand menu within the Control Center. Changes made here apply across the district, so updates take effect for all users associated with the relevant grade levels, classes, or settings.

Each section is purpose-built to reduce the need for manual, one-at-a-time changes. Whether that means setting a grading scale that applies to multiple grade levels, uploading hundreds of student photos in a single file, or flipping an integration on with one click.


🚀 Getting Started

The Control Center is accessible directly from the Main Admin account in Otus.

To access the Control Center:

Step 1: Log in to Otus using your Main Admin account.

Step 2: Navigate to the Control Center from the left-hand navigation menu.

Step 3: Select a section (Grading, Admin Users, Uploads, Academic Sessions, Integrations, or 3rd Party) to begin managing district settings.
