⚠️ Reminder: Otus Insights is an AI assistant that offers valuable support to educators, but it can make mistakes. Educators should carefully review all responses, rely on their expertise, and trust their professional judgment.
🔍 Accessing Query Insights
Step 1: Click the Analytics module in the left-hand navigation bar.
Step 2: Click the Reports tab.
Step 3: Launch Query Insights using one of the following options:
Option A: Click the Insights button directly from the Reports page.
Option B: Click into a specific Query, then click the Insights button while viewing that Query.
✨ Using Insights Prompts
Query Insights dynamically generates prompts based on the specific data shown on the page. Select a prompt from the Insights panel and Otus Insights will review your existing Query data and return a detailed response that may include:
Descriptive insights
Summary tables (downloadable as a CSV)
Organized sections for easy interpretation
💬 Asking Custom Questions
Beyond the example prompts, you can enter a custom or follow-up question in the "Type message..." box for a deeper analysis.

Type a follow-up question beneath the AI's previous response.
Follow-up questions can help you:
Refine the AI's response to meet your specific needs
Expand on a particular aspect of the response
Build out a plan for recommended next steps
Draft a communication to a specific audience
💡 Tip: Be specific about the information you want. By refining your questions, you'll receive more meaningful, actionable responses from Otus Insights.
Example: "Write an email to the parents of students on this report explaining why their student qualifies for a math intervention and how we'll be using this information to inform our instruction during the 1st quarter of the school year."
👥 Creating Student Groups
Step 1: Ask a custom question about the group you want to create.
Example: "Group my high-achieving students based on this assessment."
Step 2: Select the necessary students from the results, then click Add to Groups.
Step 3: Select an existing group or type a name to create a new one.
More than one group can be selected at a time.
Step 4: Click Save.
ℹ️ Note on Group Types:
Teachers add students to personal teacher groups, represented by a fully colored circle.
Administrators add students to district-level groups that are accessible to the entire district, represented by a semi-colored circle.
⚡️ Taking Action & Giving Feedback
At the bottom of each Insights response, you'll find four action icons using them helps the Otus team continuously improve Insights for all educators.
Icon | Action | Description |
🔄 | Regenerate | Replace the current response with a new one. |
📋 | Copy | Copy the full response to paste into another document or tool. |
👍 | Thumbs Up | Mark a response as helpful. |
👎 | Thumbs Down | Mark a response as not helpful. |
Step 1: Click the 👍 or 👎 icon at the bottom of the response.
Step 2: Select an adjective tag or type in your feedback.
Step 3: Click Send or close the window if you prefer not to add additional detail.
🔒 Data, Security, & Privacy
Although this AI feature uses models developed by third parties, your data stays securely within Otus infrastructure it is not sent to third parties or used to train external models. For more information, review our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and AI Tool Terms of Use.

I don't see Insights as an option in Query.
This feature is available for participating districts; not all users will have this feature enabled. If you are interested in enabling this feature, have your district administration reach out to your Otus Client Experience Partner.
Will it generate images, video, and or audio in the response?
The data generated in this report will be presented in formatted text, tables, and charts, which are able to be downloaded and copied.
Can I see assessment and standards data when using Query Insights?
That data can be seen in Query Insights only if it lives in an already created Query. It will not pull data from Assessment Analytics or the Gradebook.
