ℹ️ How Assessment Data is Transferred ℹ️
There are three different scenarios that impact how the assessment data is handled.
Scenario 1: The matching assessment exists in the student’s current class.
If the matching assessment you’ve transferred from the student’s old class already exists in the student’s current class, the assessment data will be added to the matching assessment. On the assigned assessments page, the student will be listed alongside the other students. In the Gradebook, their data will be listed in the same column or standards attempt as the other students.
Scenario 2: The matching assessment does not exist in the student’s current class.
If the matching assessment you’ve transferred from the student’s old class does not already exist in the student’s current class, the assessment data will be added as a new assessment for just that student. This means that the student will show as the only student assigned the assessment in the assigned assessments for that class and will show in a separate column or as a separate standards attempt in the Gradebook.
Scenario 3: The student completed the assessment in both old & current classes.
If the student took the assessment in both classes, the transfer will overwrite the existing scores in the current class. A warning message will appear before confirming the transfer.

What if I accidentally transferred the wrong assessment? Can I send it back?
No, you cannot transfer it back easily. However, our team can assist. Reach out through chat with the details and our support team will be able to assist.
Who can transfer the assessment?
Assessments can be moved by Administrators who have access to the student, the main teacher of a class the student is currently rostered in, or a co-teacher of a class the student is currently rostered in. Teachers do not need to be associated with the previous class to move the assessment.
A student just transferred into my class, but I don’t see the button to transfer assessments. Why can’t I transfer their assessments?
The option to transfer assessments is only available if the student is removed from the previous class AND they have assessment data recorded for that class. Verify that the student has been removed from the old class and is no longer listed on the class roster for that class. If they’ve been removed, verify that the student has assessments assigned in the old class.
