A variety of file types can be uploaded as attachments to items in an Otus Plan. This article will outline how each type of attachment can be added when selecting Choose Attachments.

Upload Files

How to Add:

  • Drag the file from your desktop or file location and drop it into the box.

or

  • Click Browse to locate the file on your computer.

  • Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.

💡 Tip from the Otus Team:

The file name cannot be adjusted after you've selected it from your computer, so be sure to name the file accordingly.

Acceptable File Types:

  • Images: gif, jpg, jpeg, png

  • Text/Word Processing/Documents: doc, docx, word, gdoc, pdf, txt, ppt, pptx, csv, xls, xlsx

  • Audio: mp3, m4a, webm

  • Video: mp4, mov, webm

Size Limitations:

  • 30mb for any uploaded files

Capture a Photo

How to Capture a Photo:

  1. Select the Camera icon

  2. Place your desired image in front of your built-in camera or webcam

  3. Choose Take Photo

  4. Assign a title to your photo

  5. Select Continue

❗ Important Note: Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.

Acceptable File Types:

  • gif

  • jpg

  • jpeg

  • png

Size Limitations:

  • 30mb

  • There are no known resolution limits

Character Limits

  • Photo title can be up to 200 characters

Record a Video

How to Record a Video:

  1. Select the Video icon

  2. Press the Record button to see a live image and begin recording your video

  3. Select Stop to finish recording or Pause to pause

  4. Assign a title to your video

  5. Select Continue

❗ Important Note: Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.

Acceptable File Types:

  • mp4

  • mov

  • webm

Size Limitations:

  • 5 minutes in length

Character Limits

  • Video title can be up to 200 characters

Record Audio

How to Record Audio:

  1. Select the Audio icon

  2. Press the Record button to begin recording your voice

  3. Select Stop to finish recording or Pause to pause

  4. Assign a title to your audio recording

  5. Select Continue

  6. Preview your recording if desired

  7. Press Continue to add the attachment

❗ Important Note: Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.

Acceptable File Types:

  • mp3

  • m4a

  • webm

Size Limitations:

  • 5 minutes in length.

Character Limits

  • Video title can be up to 200 characters

Add a Link

How to Add a Link:

  1. Select the Link icon

  2. Type or paste your link

  3. Type the text that you'd like to display

  4. Select Continue

  • can use any URL

Character Limits

  • Link title can be up to 200 characters

Embed a YouTube Video

How to Embed a YouTube Video:

  1. Select the YouTube icon

  2. Type or paste your YouTube video link

  3. Type the title of the video

  4. Select Continue

❗ Important Note: Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.

Acceptable Types:

  • can use any YouTube URL

Character Limits

  • Video title can be up to 200 characters

Add a Google Drive Resource

How to Add a Google Drive Resource:

  1. Select the Google icon

  2. Select the resource you'd like to add

  3. Select Continue

❗ Important Note: Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.

Acceptable Types:

  • can add any resource saved in Google Drive

  • Resource is technically added as a link that can be opened in Google Drive.

Add a Microsoft OneDrive

How to Add a Microsoft OneDrive Resource:

  1. Select the Microsoft icon

  2. Select Get OneDrive Resources to connect your Microsoft OneDrive account

  3. Choose the file you'd like to add

  4. Select Open to add the file

  5. Select Continue to add the attachment

Acceptable Types:

  • can add any resource saved in OneDrive

  • Resource is technically added as a link that can be opened in Google Drive.
