Whenever a standard is linked to a question on an assessment or a rubric descriptor and that assessment is completed by students, a standard attempt is recorded in the standards view of the gradebook.
Accessing the Gradebook
Step 1: First navigate to the Gradebook module, and select the Standards tab.
Step 2: Use the drop-down menu to specify which class you wish to view.
❗️ Based on your district settings, your Standards tab may be on the right. In addition, not all districts choose to use the Assessments view. In that case, you will only see the Standards view.
Understanding the Standards View
The standards view provides you with several key data points to help you better track your students' performance and growth.
Default View
The standards view will show all standards assessed on any assessment with a due date within the current grading period. Each district is able to establish a default grading scale which will be listed first in the list of available grading scales. A default mastery setting can also be set which means that only one calculation is available in the standards view.
Filters
You can filter the standards view in a few different ways. The filters will be saved until you log out.
Grading Period: View the standards assessed in different grading periods or for the full academic year.
Grading Scale: Change which grading scale is used to display the overall standard performance.
Mastery Setting: Change which mastery setting is used to calculate the overall standard performance.
❗ Default settings are set at the district level. Teachers are not able to determine their own defaults.
Some districts do not set specific grading periods, which means that all standard attempts from the entire academic year are factored into the overall standard performance level.
Districts can determine which mastery setting is available as the default.
Filter Standards: Isolate individual standards and view the performance level for those standards only.
Filter Assessments: Isolate individual assessments to view the performance level for standards on that assessment only.
Total Grade
For some districts, Total Grade Conversion has been enabled. This takes the performance mean for all attempts and converts it to a total class grade. See below for an example.
The Total Grade column is only available if the district has chosen to use it. If you do not see that column, that means the district does not have it enabled.
Standards Columns
Each column represents the overall performance level for a single standard.

Standards Gradebook Override
Do you see a dropdown arrow next to each performance level? That means your district has enabled the ability to override the standards grade. Find all the details here.

Can I customize the default settings in the Standards View?
No, default settings such as grading scale and mastery setting are set at the district level and cannot be determined by individual teachers.
Why are some of the standard attempts missing?
Check that standards are linked, that the due date or submission date is in the grading period and that you are viewing the grading scale that was chosen when the assessment was created.
Can I change the grading scale of an attempt? I chose the wrong one by accident.
No, the grading scale of an assessment that the students already completed cannot be adjusted. If you'd like to change the grading scale of a draft assessment, you can clone it.
