Having insight into a student's performance in each class is crucial to ensuring that each student has the support needed to succeed. The assessments and standards views provide a snapshot of your class's performance and allow you to drill down into the details of each student's assessment performance, standard performance, and missing work.

❗️Based on your district settings, your standards view may be on the left. In addition, not all districts choose to enable the assessments view. In that case, only the standards view will be visible.

Viewing Assessment Performance

To view an individual student's performance on assessments, follow the steps below:

  • Step 1: Navigate to the gradebook module

  • Step 2: Select the student's class from the dropdown menu at the top of the page.

  • Step 3: Select the Assessments tab.

  • Step 4: Select the student you wish to view.

Navigate between individual students by using the arrows to the right of the student name or selecting the individual student from the dropdown. You can also adjust the grading period to view different time frames.

This view will show you:

  • Letter grade (if your district uses points)

  • Percentage (if your district uses points)

  • Overall Performance for non-points assessments

    • The overall performance represents how many times the student got each performance level for that grading scale.

    • If you only see one color, only one performance level was earned.

  • Status

  • Type

  • Due date

  • Submission date

  • Comments

Understanding the Overall Performance for Non-Points Assessments

Hover over the overall performance bar located in the Total column to view how many times the student earned each performance level for the grading scale used on that particular assessment.

Example 1:

Here we see that the student earned three different performance levels for questions on this assessment. Not at Standard was earned on one question. We could hover over the other colors of the overall performance bar to see the number of times the other performance levels were earned.

Example 2:

For Movie Analysis: Hidden Figures, we see that the student earned Exceeds on two questions.

Viewing a Student's Grades for All Classes

The student profile is a powerful tool that gives educators access to an abundance of data regarding each student in their classes. The gradebook view is part of that student profile. Learn more here.

  • Step 1: From the Classes module, select the correct class.

  • Step 2: Choose the student from the student list.

  • Step 3: This opens the student profile where you will see the gradebooks for each class.

Adjust the class and any other filters for the standards gradebook just like you can in the standards view of the gradebook.

💡 Tip: While you are able to see the overall grade for each class, you won't be able to see the breakdown of assessments from this view. Choose the Reports tab in the student profile to view assessment results.
