When building a template in the plans module, administrators can select a third-party dataset to pull into individual students’ plans automatically. All historical scores that have been imported for the datasets you select will be available after a nightly sync. This means that any time new data has been uploaded to the dataset, the data in the plan will also update.
Automating the Data
From the plans module, you can either create a new template or choose to edit an existing template.
Creating a New Item
If you're creating a new item, type the item name and click Select Scale. Choose Connect to Otus Data Source.
Select the 3rd Party Data (1) and Assessment (2) you'd like to use, then choose whether you want to display the Score or Percentile in the status column (3). After making your selections, click Connect (4).
The data will be available in the plan following the overnight sync
Editing an Existing Item
If you have already been manually tracking third-party datasets in one of your plans, you will add a new status column.
Choose Connect to Otus Data Source.
Select the 3rd Party Data (1) and Assessment (2) you'd like to use, then choose whether you want to display the Score or Percentile in the status column (3). After making your selections, click Connect (4).
After you've connected the new data column, you can delete the original status column to eliminate confusion. Select the ellipsis and choose Delete Column. Then, only the automated data will be visible in your plan.
Viewing the Third-Party Data
Any students who are added to your plan will have their third-party data assessment populate automatically in the plan.
From your plans module, select the student you'd like to see.
Scroll to the correct section to see the most recent scores.
To view all historical scores for that third-party dataset, click directly on the item name. This page includes both a graph and a table with the details of each attempt.
Available information may vary based on the data that's been uploaded.
In the graph, you'll find a datapoint for each attempt (Item Performance), student target scores for each attempt, and a trendline to show the overall pattern of the student’s progress over time.
If target sets have been configured, you'll be able to toggle between them using the View Target Set drop-down menu.
In the data table, you'll find the Test Date, Attempt Name, Student Score, Student Percentile, and Student Target Score, as well as any Notes that have been added manually.
Hover over any of the options in the legend to highlight that data in the graph. Click directly on an option to hide it from view temporarily, and reselect it to make it visible again.
