When building an Advanced Assessment, you can create questions where students need to write (for example, an essay) or record their answers.
There are three types of essay-style questions:

Essay - Rich Text
Students can give long, detailed answers to questions (up to a maximum of 10,000 words). This Essay Question type allows for more detailed formatting options, such as bold, underline, and bulleted lists.
Essay - Plain Text
This lets students give long, detailed answers to questions (up to a maximum of 10,000 words). This Essay Question type only allows for basic formatting options such as Copy, Cut, and Paste.
Short Text
This requires students to respond to questions which have short, definite answers, e.g. 1-2 words, or a number.
Audio Recorder
This allows authors to implement audio recorders into a question. The embedded audio recorder can record, save and playback a student’s response. It is especially useful for language assessments. Audio questions are not auto-scored.
Video Recorder
This allows authors to implement video recorders into a question. The embedded video recorder can record, save and playback a student’s response. Video questions are not auto-scored.
