🎯 Purpose
The Assessments page gives you a real-time view of your student's assessments across all their classes, so you can quickly check what's due, what's missing, and how they've scored. Instead of checking multiple classes separately, you can see everything: upcoming work, completed work, and grades from a single place.
💡 Why it Matters
Staying on top of assessments helps you catch missing work early, understand how your student is progressing, and have more informed conversations with them and their teachers about their learning. It also means you don't have to rely on report cards or parent-teacher conferences alone to know how things are going; you can check in as often as you'd like, right when you need to. For families juggling multiple kids, classes, or platforms, having one clear, up-to-date place to look can take a lot of the guesswork and back-and-forth out of staying involved in your student's schoolwork.
🔑 Key Functions

🧠 Understand Assessment Data
Score & Status
When you open an assessment, here's what you'll see:
Score shows up as a simple ratio, like 8/10. If the teacher factors in weighting or a total grade, you'll also see a percentage next to it. For standards-based assessments, there's no single score; instead, you'll see how your student did across each performance level. And if it hasn't been graded yet, this section just stays blank for now.
Completion Status tells you where the work stands: Not Started, In Progress, Turned In, or Graded.
Submission Status lets you know whether it came in Missing, Late, On Time, Excused, or Excluded so you can quickly spot anything that needs your attention.
Due Date and Submitted Date show up as actual dates when they're available. If there's no due date, you'll simply see "No due date."
If the teacher left a comment, you'll see an indicator for that too. A quick note can explain more than the score alone.
ℹ️ Your district's setup determines whether letter grades appear; you may see one next to the score or just the score on its own.
Standards Grades
If the assessment covered specific standards, scroll down to the Standards Graded section. Instead of one overall grade, you'll see how your student performed on each standard individually. Click into any of them for more detail. Checking this over time can help you tell whether a lower mark is a one-time thing or a pattern worth mentioning to the teacher.
