The Defense of Learning (DoL) presentations by the fifth, eighth, and eleventh grade students at Jefferson County Public Schools are graded by a panel of 3-5 educators, including the teacher of record. Each panelist scores the presentations individually in the rubric assessment. Those scores are then averaged to calculate the student's final grade.

As an administrator or the teacher of record, you will have access to view both the individual scores that were assigned by the teacher of record and the panel averages.

Access the Assessment

  • Step 1: Navigate to Assessments and choose Assigned.

  • Step 2: Choose the class to review under Classes.

  • Step 3: Select the assessment you'd like to review to open the student list.

  • Step 4: Select View Panel Average to view panel averages

3: Descriptor Averages

Each column averages the scores that were assigned to each descriptor.

Review Individual Student Results

The individual student view provides a breakdown of scores assigned by each panelist.

1: Panel Average

View the panel average per descriptor as well as the total score or numerical panel average in the last row.

2: Panelist Scores

View the scores inputted by each panelist as well as the total score that they assigned and any comments that were inputted.
