Does your district use Exemplars© Rubrics? Otus has all of the Exemplars Math Rubrics pre-built, in addition to the activity resources for each!

Locate the Rubrics

If your district has chosen to have these rubrics added to your account, you'll find them in the Shared With Me section of your Assessments module.

The folder structure is as follows (further explained below):

Grade Level > CCSS Strand > CCSS Topic > CCSS Standard

Example:

Grade 1 > 1.OA: Operations and Algebraic Thinking > Work with addition and subtraction equations > 1.OA.D.7

  • Each grade level has a folder. The district can choose which grade levels to share with you. If you don't see the grade level you need, contact your administration.

  • Within each grade level is a folder for each Common Core strand. The example below if from Grade 1, which has four strands:

  • After selecting a Common Core strand, you'll see folders for each topic in that strand. These topics are based on the Common Core language, which is what the Exemplars© Rubrics use:

  • The last level of folders will be the individual Common Core standard. It is within these folders that you'll find the rubrics!

Assign the Rubrics

To assign, select the ellipsis and choose Assign.

Access the Resources

Please Note - you must be logged into your Exemplars account to access the resources for each activity.

The resources for each rubric/activity can be found on your Bookshelf in your Otus account.

  • Select your Bookshelf module

  • Select Shared With Me

  • You will see a folder titled Exemplars Problem Solving for the 21st Century - Common Core - Must be logged in.

  • Select that folder - each grade level will expand below. The folder structure here is the same as it is for the assessments (Grade level, CCSS strand, CCSS topic, CCSS standard).

  • Once you've found the title of the activity, select it, and you will be taken directly to the resources in your Exemplar account. Remember, you must be logged into Exemplars in order to have access to the resources.

How Students Submit the Rubric

If you choose, students can submit the rubric with an attachment that includes a snapshot of their work for the activity.

This is not a required piece (you can still grade the rubric without needing the students to submit it), but it is always a nice option.

To learn more, select the button below to see how students can submit the Rubric with an attachment, such as a snapshot of their work.

Grade the Rubric

To grade the rubric, head to your Assigned Assessments, select the correct class, then select the rubric.

  • You can grade from the class-view, or you can click on an individual student.
