Download a Missing Assessments Report for a Class

Important Note: Downloading a missing assessments report for an entire class is only available in the Assessments gradebook. Some districts may choose to use a Standards gradebook only, in which case you will not see an Assessments gradebook in your account.

  • Step 1: Navigate to the Gradebook module.

  • Step 2: If needed, click to view the Assessments tab in your gradebook (districts primarily using standards-based grading may see the Standards tab on the left, and the Assessments tab on the right).

  • Step 3: Use the drop down menu to specify which class you wish to view data in.

  • Step 4: Select the ellipsis menu at the top right of the Gradebook.

  • Step 5: Select Missing Assessments.

The report will be downloaded as a .csv file, and will include the following information for each student:

  • Student name

  • Student email

  • SIS ID

  • All assessments with a current status of "Missing" in Otus

Download a Missing Assessments Report for an Individual Student

➡️ From the Assessments gradebook

  • Navigate to the Assessments gradebook by following Steps 1-3 in the section above.

  • Click on the name of a student to view their individual gradebook.

  • From the student gradebook view, select the ellipsis menu and the top right and choose Missing Assessments.

The report will be downloaded as a .csv file with the student's name and the class name included in the title of the file. It includes the following columns:

  • Assessment name

  • Status

  • Assessment Type (e.g. assignment, homework, quiz, etc.)

  • Due date

➡️ From the Student Profile

Please note: This option is best for districts who do not have the Assessments gradebook enabled.

  • Step 1: From the Classes module, select the class that contains the student.

  • Step 2: Select the student. This will take you to that student's Student Profile.

  • Step 3: Navigate to the Reports section of the Student Profile. By default, the table will display a list of assessments assigned to that student in all classes (not just the ones you teach). Use the dropdown to filter to a specific class.

The table above contains the following columns

  • Assessment: This is the assessment name.

  • Points: The points the student has earned out of the total points (if n/a shows in this column, the assessment was a standards-based assessment that does not have point values).

  • Submitted: The date the student submitted the assessment. If there is a dash (-) in this column, that means the assessment was never actually submitted from within the student's account.

  • Submission Status: On Time, Missing, Late, Excused, or Excluded

  • Completion Status: Not Started, In Progress, Turned In, or Graded

  • Step 4: Download a CSV of this table by selecting the download icon in the upper-right corner.

  • Step 5: Using Excel, there are a few ways you can manipulate this spreadsheet to only see the assessments marked with a submission status of Missing:

    • Sort column D.

    • Use a filter for Column D to display only those with Missing.
