Students: Adding a Video

Students - This step-by-step article shows you how to add a video to a rubric assessment, blog, portfolio, or bookshelf.

Students, at times, you will need to add an image or picture as part of an assignment in Otus. You can add images in a few different ways. We show you how below.

Where to Click:

Click "Choose File" under Student Attachments.

Click the paper clip next to Choose a file or drag it here.

Click + Add Item in the corner, add the details, then click the Upload to Portfolio button.

Make sure you are in "My Bookshelf". Then, click the + button and click Resource.

Are you using an iPad?

  • You can record directly on your iPads only if you are using Safari.

Steps

Step 1️⃣ When you see the box of choices, select the video icon.

Step 2️⃣ Choose how you want to add your video.

  • If you want to add a video that is already on your device, select Browse.

  • If you want to record a live video with your device, select Record Video. The video can be up to 5 minutes long.

Step 3️⃣

Select the camera icon in the middle of the recording box.

On the iPad, you will need to approve the use of the camera.

Step 4️⃣

Select the record button in the lower-left corner.

Step 5️⃣

When you are done recording, select the stop button in the lower-left corner.

Step 6️⃣

Add a name to your video and select Save.
