🎯 Purpose
The Bookshelf gives teachers a central place to organize and share resources directly within Otus. Think of it like a physical classroom bookshelf — students can browse and open materials whenever they need them, while teachers can pull from the same resource library when building lessons.
💡 Who this is for: Teachers (and Admins) use the Bookshelf to store, organize, and share resources with students and colleagues. Students access shared resources from their own Bookshelf view at any time.
💡 Why Use This Feature?
The Otus Bookshelf keeps your classroom resources organized and accessible in one place. No more hunting through email attachments or external drives.
✅ Store all classroom resources in a single, easy-to-navigate location.
✅ Share materials with specific students, groups, or your entire class.
✅ Support differentiated instruction by sharing different resources with different student groups.
✅ Reuse resources across lessons without re-uploading content.
✅ Collaborate with colleagues by sharing resources teacher-to-teacher.
✅ Give students access to materials they can return to throughout the year.

⚙️ How It Works
When you open the Bookshelf, you'll land on My Bookshelf, which defaults to the All Resources view. This shows every resource you've added across all classes. Use the dropdown menu at the top of the page to switch between your individual class bookshelves and view only the resources shared with that class.
💡 Tip: Organize resources into folders to make it easier to find what you need.
Teachers can add a wide variety of resource types to their bookshelf, including uploaded files, web links, photos, videos, YouTube links, audio recordings, Google Drive files, OneDrive files, and text pages created directly in Otus. Simply select the + icon to get started.
Once resources are added, teachers can share them with entire classes, individual students, groups of students, or fellow teachers. Any resource shared with you by a colleague will appear in the Shared With Me section of your Bookshelf.
💡 Tip: Use folders to organize resources by unit, topic, or class. It makes it much easier for both you and your students to find what they need quickly.
