Does your district use standards that are not included in the default groups of standards available? You can add those as custom standards.
There are two ways to create custom standards:
Option 1: One at a time in the Control Center (can be done within the Main Admin account).
Recommended for when you only need to add a handful of standards
Option 2: Bulk Upload using a CSV (uploaded by the Otus team)
Recommended for when you have a large amount of standards
Will require filling out a template, of which you will send to us when completed, and we can bulk upload those standards on our end.
Once you've added custom standards, you can edit or delete them.
Add Custom Standards
Adding custom standards allows teachers to use standards other than those that are part of the common core or state standards. There are two ways you can add custom standards; on your own through the Control Center, or prepping a file for the Otus Team to upload for you.
Option 1: One at a Time in the Control Center
If you are choosing to add custom standards one at a time from the Main Admin account, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Navigate to the Control Center.
Step 2: On the Grading page, select the Standards Settings tab.
Step 3: Select Create Standard.
Step 4: Enter the following information:
Title
Subject
Grade (can select more than one)
Description - this is the body of the standard (optional)
Step 5: Save & Repeat
Select the Save button.
Repeat the same process with your other custom standards.
Option 2: Bulk Upload using CSV
Step 1: Reach out to Otus Support using the Chat Feature.
Ask for the template for a custom standards upload - a member of the team will be happy to send it to you.
Step 2: Fill out the template
It is important to leave all headings unchanged, as it is sent to you specifically formatted.
Type the Subject, Title, and Description
Type an 'x' into the grade level(s) that should be attached to the standard
The image below shows an example:
Step 3: Send the template back to us
Save your template with a file name that includes your district name
Make sure to save it as a .csv
Send it to support@otus.com, or you can attach it as a file and send it in the chat feature.
Step 4: Confirm the Upload
Once we have finished uploading the standards, we will reach back out to you, asking you to verify that all of the standards look correct.

Does editing a custom standard impact any data that has been collected on that standard?
No. Editing a standard does not impact any of the data that already exists for that standard, but be careful not to delete the standard!
