Standards Analytics allows you to view a breakdown of performance levels on up to ten standards at a time. Below is an example report.

💡 Tip: By default, you will see data for all students within your permissions, but you can use the filters to narrow down the group you are viewing data for. Once you've set up your filters, select Apply Filters.

Generate the Standards Report

  • Step 1: Navigate to the Analytics module.

  • Step 2: Select the Standards tab.

  • Step 3: Make sure you are using the correct date range for the desired data. To change the date range, click the calendar icon.

  • Step 4: To view the optional filters, click Show Filters. Note - the number of available filters depends on whether you are in a teacher account or an admin account. Admin accounts will have more filters.

  • Step 5: Search and select the standards - begin typing in the name or number of the standard. Standards will begin to appear for you to click. You can select up to ten standards to display at once.

💡 Tip: Not seeing any data?

  • Change the date range to All Time (see Step 3 above). You may have assessed the standard on a date that is beyond the time frame selected.

  • Filter your results by Grading Scale (see below). You may have used a different grading scale on the assessment that contains that standard.

Change the Display Filters (optional)

  • Filter by Assessments: You can choose to view the standards as they appear on specific assessments. *Note - if you see a spinner icon next to the Assessments filter, that's ok! It just means that Otus is working on getting all of the data ready for you.

  • Filter by Mastery Setting: You can choose to view the performance level by Mean, Median, Mode, Decaying Average, or Highest.

  • Filter by Grading Scale: You can choose from one of your district's grading scales.

Analyze the Results

Click on the horizontal bar of any standard. You will see an overall breakdown of the number of students at each performance level.

  • Click on a performance level to view just the students who performed at that level.

  • Click on a student's row to view their individual performance.

  • Download data as a CSV by clicking the download icon.

Create/Assign Groups

  • Check the boxes to the left of the students' names who you'd like to add to a group.

  • Click Add to Groups.

  • To add students to an existing group, click on the Search Groups drop-down menu or begin typing the name of the group. Select the correct group and then click Save.

  • To create a new group, type the name of the new group and click on it. Select a color for the group, then click Create. When you're done, click Save.

FAQ and Troubleshooting

If I click into a standard, and even further into an individual student's performance, how do I get back to the original report?

Use the breadcrumbs at the top of the page to take you back to your original report rather than the back arrow. Using the breadcrumbs is the best way to navigate in Standards Analytics.

How many standards can I select to display on the same graph?

You can select up to 10 standards to display on the same graph.

If I override a standards grade in the gradebook, does that reflect in Standards Analytics?

No; Standards Analytics will always pull the original standards score; it does not take into account any standards gradebook override.

When I use the filters, the report isn't updating. Why is that?

You will want to select the filters first, then select Apply Filters.

Can I pull up data for prior school years?

Yes; administrator accounts have this ability. This can also be done using Historical Analytics.

How long does it take for an assessment to appear in Standards Analytics?

The first time a standard is ever assessed at your district, it will require an overnight sync for the data to be available. After the standard has been assessed at least one time, Standards Analytics is updated immediately for any future attempts toward that standard.
