As a teacher or administrator, you can preview an assessment to view and interact with it as it will appear to students.

There are three ways to preview an assessment in Otus:

Preview a Draft Assessment

  • Step 1: While in the Assessments module, locate the assessment in your drafts.

  • Step 2: Select the ellipsis to the right of the assessment.

  • Step 3: Choose Preview.

Preview an Assigned Assessment

  • Step 1: Navigate to your Assessments module.

  • Step 2: Select Assigned.

  • Step 3: Choose the correct class.

  • Step 4: Select the ellipsis to the right of the assessment.

  • Step 5: Select Preview.

Examples

Simple Assessment

You can preview a simple assessment while you are in the builder; select Preview in the upper right-hand corner.

  • After selecting Preview, you will be taken directly to the first question on the assessment.

  • This will be the exact view the students will have.

  • You can input answers, but nothing will be saved or submitted

Advanced Assessment

You can preview an advanced assessment while you are in the builder; select Preview in the upper right-hand corner.

  • The view you see will be the exact view the students will have. *Note - the TextHelp Toolbar shows by default, but it will not appear on the student's side unless enabled when the assessment is assigned

  • You can input answers, but nothing will be saved or submitted

➡️ Preview an Item in an Advanced Assessment:

While editing an Advanced Assessment, you can also preview an individual item or question as you build. The advantage here is that you can also verify scoring.

  • While editing any question, select Preview.

  • The score bubble will turn green if you've entered the correct answer(s).

Rubric Assessment

❗ Please note: Rubrics do not have a preview option available within the builder. Instead, you will need to use the preview option from the Drafts page or from the Assigned Assessments page.

💡 Tip: Did you add an attachment (such as a Google Doc) to your rubric? If so, that attachment is not shown on the preview. Don't worry though; it will be there for the students!
