This step-by-step guide will show you how to log into Otus and take the assessments that your teachers have assigned to you.

1️⃣ Log into Otus

Use your school email and password to log in.

Check with your teacher to see if you should use one of the sign-on options instead.

2️⃣ Click on Assessments.

➡️ Click directly on the notification that the assessment was assigned to go directly to that assessment.

➡️ Click on the assessment in your To Do list.

3️⃣ Find the Assessment in the List.

Find the assessment and click on it.

➡️ Search for your assessment in the search field.

➡️ Choose the class from the dropdown menu to narrow the search.

➡️ Filter your assessment list based on the status such as New!, Graded, Turned In, or In Progress.

4️⃣ Read the details and select Start.

5️⃣ Click start at the bottom of the assessment.

6️⃣ Answer the questions.

  • When the assessment begins, you start on Item 1.

  • See the diagram below to show you what the different parts of the assessment are.

  • Your work auto-saves each time you click or type an answer.

➡️ Item List:

  • If an item is marked with a gray edge, that means the item has been completed.

  • If an item is white, the item has not been started.

  • You can click on each item individually or use the previous and next buttons.

  • Otus will autosave each question, so you don't need to save answers.

➡️ Annotations:

You may be able to leave annotations while taking your assessment if your teacher turned on that setting.

➡️ Toolbar:

Do you see this toolbar at the top of your assessment? That means your teacher turned on these settings.

➡️ Accessibility:

There are a few ways you can change how the screen looks while you are taking your assessment.

You can change:

Color Scheme

Font Size

Screen Zoom

7️⃣ Save and exit OR submit.

➡️ Save and Exit

If you have to return to the assessment at a later time, select Save and Exit in the upper-left corner. This will not submit the assessment!

➡️ Submit

While on the last item, clicking the Next arrow will prompt you to submit.

You will get a warning if you try to submit the assessment before every question has been answered.

❗️Important Note❗️

Be sure you've completed the assessment completely before you submit the assessment. Once you submit an assessment, you cannot go back and answer any unanswered questions or adjust any responses. Submitting an assessment locks that assessment, and it will be submitted for grading.
