What are Recognitions?
- Identifies a behavior or characteristic.
- Can be given (assigned) to one or more students at a time.
- Can be positive or negative.
- Can be created at the district administrator level or teacher level.
- Teachers can leave notes with each recognition given.
- Teachers and administrators can run reports on recognitions given to a single student or groups of students.
- Each recognition given to a student can be found in that student's profile.
- Parents and students can see the recognitions given in each class.
Create a Recognition
Step 1: Within the Students section of your Classes module, click the ellipsis in the upper-right corner and select Give Recognition
Step 2: Click the + Symbol
Step 3: Type a description for the recognition. Choose either Positive or Negative.
Step 4: Click Save
Assign a Recognition
Step 1: Within the Classes module, select Assign Recognitions
Step 2: Click on the recognition you wish to assign.
Step 3: Select the student(s) you wish to assign the recognition to.
Step 4: Click Assign
More Options with Assigning
1 - To assign to individual students
2 - To assign to groups, click on this button. It will then give you a list of groups to assign to.
3 - Select a date. *note - if you do not select a date, the recognition will have the current date by default
4 - If you select the sound icon, your computer will play a sound when the recognition is assigned.
5 - Hovering over a student will reveal the note icon. Click on this icon to leave a note for the recognition. *note - if you select multiple students for a recognition, the note will not automatically copy to each student; you will have to copy/paste the note for each student.
Unassign a Recognition
Step 1: Within the Students section of the Classes module, click on the recognition symbols on the student's name. This will take you directly to the Recognition
for that student.
Step 2: Within the Reports section, make sure Recognitions is selected in the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Select the ellipses to the right of the recognition you wish to delete.
Step 4: Click Delete.
*Note - you can only delete/edit recognitions that were assigned by you.
You can view all of the recognitions a student has received by going to that student's profile. Within the Students section of the Classes module, click on the recognition symbols on the student's tile. This will take you directly to the Recognition
for that student.
Within the Reports section, make sure Recognitions is selected in the dropdown menu.
1 - If the same recognition has been assigned multiple times, it will have an expansion icon to the left of the recognition. To see all instances of that recognition, click on that arrow.
2 - To edit the note, click on the ellipses to the right of the recognition. Select Notes. From here, you can edit the current note or add the new note.
