The Skills-Based Portfolio gives administrators a clear window into how students are building and demonstrating district-prioritized skills. With this level of visibility, you can quickly pinpoint strengths, identify areas for growth, and monitor progress over time. This article outlines how to navigate the Skills-Based Portfolio from an administrator’s view, including how to sort and interpret artifact data by skill, grade level, and site.
🔑 Key Elements
The Portfolio landing page will provide five key pieces of information.
1: Timeframe | ➡️ Filter artifact data by a selected timeframe. The default is the current school year. |
2: Total Number of Artifacts | ➡️ Artifact count for all students across all sites. |
3: Artifacts Per Skill | ➡️ Hover over the skill to see the number of artifacts. ➡️ Use the drop-down menu to view full screen, print, or download the chart. |
4: Artifacts by Grade Level | ➡️ Sort results by clicking on the column headers. 🔎 Click on a Grade Level to drill into data. |
5: Artifacts by Site | ➡️ Sorting is not an option for this chart. 🔎 Click on the Site to drill into data. |
🔎 Drill Down into Data
Drill into the Grade Level and Site sections to view a detailed breakdown of students, including the total number of artifacts they’ve uploaded and the count for each skill.
🔢 Access Data by Grade Level
Click on the Grade Level you want to access.
Here you can do the following:
Search for students by typing three consecutive letters of their name.
Filter artifacts by a selected timeframe.
Sort results by total artifacts or by skill.
Access individual student portfolios by clicking directly on their row.

Click on the Site you want to access.
Here you can do the following:
Search for students by typing three consecutive letters of their name.
Filter artifacts by a selected timeframe.
Sort results by total artifacts or by skill.
Access individual student portfolios by clicking directly on their row.
🧑🎓 View an Individual Student's Portfolio
To view an individual student's portfolio, click directly on their row.
Locate and view artifacts in one of the following ways:
Option 1: Search - Type three or more consecutive characters of the title.
Option 2: Skills List - Click a Skill to see linked artifacts.
Option 3: Scroll - Use the scroll bar to look through all artifacts.
💡 Tip: By default, only artifacts from the current school year will be shown. Use the drop-down menu to adjust the school year.
Click directly on the artifact you want to view.
💡 Tip: You can also view student artifacts directly from the Student Profile. In the Content section, the three most recently added artifacts are displayed. Click View All Artifacts to open the student’s full Portfolio.
