🎯 Purpose
The Query and Historical report tools in Otus allow administrators to create custom reports that analyze the student data collected across your district. Whether you need to identify a specific group of students based on performance criteria or compare cohorts over time, these tools give you the flexibility to surface the insights that matter most to your school or district. These tools are located in the Reports section of Analytics and are available to Main Admin and Admin accounts.
💡 Who is this for? This feature is designed for administrators, including Main Admins and Admins, who need to analyze student data at the class, building, or district level. Teachers do not have access to the Reports section of Analytics.
💡 Why Use Query and Historical Reports?
✅ Identify specific subsets of students who meet defined performance criteria across multiple data sources.
✅ Compare cohort performance to evaluate the impact of instructional programs or interventions.
✅ Track student progress on 3rd-party assessments over time to measure growth.
✅ Combine data from multiple sources, including 3rd party assessments, Otus assessments, and recognitions, into a single, customized report.
✅ Save, clone, and share reports with other administrators in your district for consistent data conversations.
✅ Support data-driven decision-making at the building and district level.

⚙️ How It Works
Query Reports
Query Reports allow you to identify a subset of students who meet certain criteria. Use them to answer questions like:
Which 4th-grade students are performing below target on a specific 3rd-party assessment and our most recent district common assessment?
Which students have a score of "Exceeds" on our grade-level reading standards?
Which students have had at least 5 positive recognitions for Teamwork during the previous month?
💡The following data sources are available in a Query Report: 3rd Party assessments uploaded as "Other" or "MAP Growth," locked points-based assessments, and District Recognitions.
Historical Reports
Historical Reports allow you to compare the performance of cohorts on 3rd party assessments and certain Otus assessments. For 3rd party assessments, performance can also be tracked over time. Use them to answer questions like:
Did the new mathematics program increase student performance on the state assessment over previous years?
How do students in co-taught classes compare to the rest of the student body on the NWEA ELA MAP Test?
How did current 8th-grade students perform on the Spring NWEA MAP Test this year compared to last year as 7th graders?
💡 The following data sources are available in a Historical Report: 3rd Party assessments uploaded as "Other" and locked, points-based Advanced Assessments.
