Archiving and deleting are both ways of removing a class from view, however, there are important differences between the two.

➡️ Archiving: removes a class from view, but does NOT delete the rosters or data completely. Archived classes can be unarchived and used again at any point.

➡️ Deleting: removes a class from view, and deletes all rosters and data. This action can't be undone. Please note, not all users will have the option to delete their classes (it is dependent on district settings).

For districts that roster using a Student Information System (SIS), classes cannot be permanently archived from Otus directly. The rostering settings in the SIS must be adjusted so the classes no longer sync with Otus.

FAQ

  • If I archive a class, will it reappear with the nightly sync? Yes. If your district is rostered using an SIS, archiving a class in Otus will not remain permanent unless the settings are updated in your SIS so that the class no longer syncs with Otus.

  • I am missing some of my classes, and I don't remember archiving them. What do I do? Do you have co-teachers in your classes? Check with any co-teachers or administrators to see if they may have archived those classes. If you can't find who archived them, reach out to us in the chat feature, and we can help!

  • If I archive a class but realize I need data from that class, can I get the data back? Yes. All you have to do is unarchive the class. Unarchiving the class will bring back all of the students and data in that class.
