Anyone with access to a student's plan is able to update the student's status for each item on the plan. Included in the plan update is the ability to attach a file to that status so that others who view an item's historical updates will be able to access that file. Teachers and administrators can add any of the following file types:
file upload
take pictures, record videos, or record audio directly in Otus
add links to a website or resource
link a YouTube video
add a resource from Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive
Adding an Attachment
To get started, locate the plan and the student you would like to update.
Step 1: Locate the item that you would like to update. The attachment can be added to any status column of a plan's item.
Step 2: Click directly on the status cell to add a new status.
Step 3: Update the Date, Time, Status, and any notes you'd like to add.
Step 4: Drag and drop the file you'd like to attach or select Choose Attachments to access more options.
Step 5: Select Save to finish your update.
❗If you need to remove the attachment, simply click the x by the file name in Uploaded Files. You can attach multiple files by dragging additional files or choosing additional attachments.

Step 1: Drag the file from your desktop or file location into the box or click Browse to locate the file on your computer.
Step 2: Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.
Acceptable File Types:
Images: gif, jpg, jpeg, png
Text/Word Processing/Documents: docx, word, gdoc, pdf, txt, ppt, pptx, csv, xls, xlsx
Audio: mp3, m4a, webm
Video: mp4, mov, webm
Size Limits:
30mb for any uploaded files

Step 1: Select the Camera icon.
Step 2: Place your desired image in front of your built-in camera or webcam.
Step 3: Choose Take Photo.
Step 4: Assign a title to your photo.
Step 5: Select Continue. Fill out the remainder of your status update and select Save.

Size Limits:
30 mb
There are no known resolution limits.
Character Limits:
Photo title can be up to 200 characters.
Record a video

Step 1: Select the Video icon.
Step 2: Press the Record button to see a live image and begin recording your video.
Step 3: Select Stop to finish recording or Pause to pause your recording.
Step 4: Assign a title to your video.
Step 5: Select Continue. Fill out the remainder of your status update and select Save.

5 minutes in length

Video title can be up to 200 characters.

Step 2: Press the Record button to begin recording your voice.
Step 3: Select Stop to finish recording or Pause to pause your recording.
Step 4: Assign a title to your audio.
Step 5: Preview your recording if desired.
Step 6: Press Continue to add the attachment. Fill out the remainder of your status update and select Save.

Add a link

Step 1: Select the Link icon.
Step 2: Type or paste your link.
Step 3: Type the text that you'd like to display.
Step 4: Select Continue. Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.

Embed a YouTube video

Step 1: Select the YouTube icon.
Step 2: Type or paste your YouTube video link.
Step 3: Type the title of the video.
Step 4: Select Continue. Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.

Add a resource from Google Drive

Step 1: Select the Google icon.
Step 2: Select the resource you'd like to add.
Step 3: Select Continue. Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.

can use any resource saved in Google Drive
Resource is technically added as a link that can be opened in Google Drive.
Add a resource from Microsoft OneDrive

Step 1: Select the Microsoft icon.
Step 2: Select Get OneDrive Resources to connect your Microsoft OneDrive account.
Step 3: Choose the file you'd like to add.
Step 4: Select Open to add the file.
Step 5: Select Continue. Fill out the remainder of your status update and then select Save.

Resource is technically added as a link that can be opened in OneDrive.
Viewing an Attachment
Step 1: Click on the title of the item that you would like to view.
Step 2: Select the paperclip icon to access all attachments.
Editing an Attachment
Step 1: Click on the title of the item that you would like to edit.
Step 2: Select the ellipsis and choose Edit.
Step 3: Make any necessary changes to the attachments by adding additional items or clicking on the x to remove the appropriate attachment. When finished, click Save.
