What Can a Family Account do on the Mobile App?

  • Link a student to their family account.
  • View the notification feed on the home page.
  • View the class board (including pictures, videos, and links that have been posted) and any comments left by their student.
  • View their student's overall grade and assessment scores
  • View their student's standards performance (mastery settings can be changed in the Settings section; see below for details).
  • View recognitions given to their student.

Logging In

Login to the Otus app the same way you would on your computer. If you usually use Google SSO on your computer, you should login to the app using Google SSO as well.

Notification Feed (Home Page)

The home page for the mobile app is the notification feed. This will mirror your notification feed that you see on your computer. 

Assessment Notifications

  • You will receive a notification when your student is assigned an assessment or when an assessment has been graded. 
  • Clicking on the graded assessment notification will take you directly to the results of that assessment.

Class Board Notifications

  • You will receive a notification when a new post has been added to your student's class board.
  • Clicking on the class board notification takes you to the post. You will be able to see any comments the teacher or your student has made.
  • You can also open any attachments on that post.

Recognition Notifications

  • You will receive a notification when your student has been given a recognition.
  • Clicking on a recognition notification will show you the student's individual recognition data.

Lesson Notifications

  • You will receive a notification when your student is assigned a lesson and when they complete a lesson

Overall Percentage & Individual Assessment Scores

You can view your student's overall grade, as well as their scores on assessments.

  • Step 1: Navigate to Classes (at the bottom) and select the class you wish to see details for.
  • Step 2: To see the individual assessment scores, expand the Assessments menu.
  • Step 3: To see a breakdown of the standards on that assessment, select assessment

Performance on Standards

You can view your student's performance on assessed standards.

  • Follow Step 1 from above.
  • Step 2: Expand the Standards menu. 
  • Step 3: To see a breakdown, select the standard. This will show you what assessments that standard has been on.

Recognitions

You can view the recognitions that have been given to your student.

  • Step 1: Navigate to Classes (at the bottom) and select the class you wish to see details for.
  • Step 2: To see the recognitions, expand the Recognitions menu. Select one of the recognitions to see more details. This will show you all of the instances that recognition has been given
  • Step 3: Select a specific instance to see any note that the teacher may have written when the recognition was given.

Settings

In Settings, you can:

Choose to view information for a different student

  • Activate the toggle next to the student you wish to view the information for.

Link a new student.

  • Enter in the student code and choose your relationship to the student.
  • Select Add.

Change the mastery setting you are viewing:

  • Select Mastery Setting
  • Choose the desired mastery setting and select Done.

Change the grading period you are viewing.

  • Select the school.
  • Choose the grading period you want to view, then select Done.

Log Out

  • Select Log Out
