What Can You Do on the Mobile App?

  • View the notification feed on the home page.
  • View class boards (including pictures, videos, and links that have been posted).
  • View assessment scores.
  • View standards performance (mastery settings can be changed in the Settings section; see below for details).
  • View recognitions.
  • Email a teacher.

Logging In

Login to the Otus app the same way you would on your computer. If you usually use Google SSO on your computer, you should login to the app using Google SSO as well.

Notification Feed (Home Page)

The home page for the mobile app is the notification feed. This will mirror your notification feed that you see on your computer. 

Assessment Notifications

  • You will receive a notification when your teacher assigns you an assessment, or when your teacher has graded your assessment.
  • You can click on the graded assessment notification to see the details of the assessment grade.

Class Board Notifications

  • You will receive a notification when your teacher has added a post to your class board.
  • Clicking on the class board notification takes you to the post. You will be able to see any comments that have been made.

Recognition Notifications

  • You will receive a notification when a teacher has given you a recognition.
  • Clicking on the recognition notification will show you all of the recognitions you've been given in that class.

Lesson Notifications

  • You will receive a notification when you have been assigned a lesson.

View Your Grades and Recognitions

Overall Percentage & Assessment Scores

You can view your overall grade, as well as your scores on assessments.

  • Step 1: Navigate to Classes (at the bottom) and select the class you wish to see details for.
  • Step 2: To see the assessment scores, expand the Assessments menu.
  • Step 3: To see a breakdown of the standards on that assessment, select assessment

Performance on Standards

You can view your performance on standards.

  • Follow Step 1 from above.
  • Step 2: Expand the Standards menu. 
  • Step 3: To see a breakdown, select the standard. This will show you what assessments that standard has been on.

Recognitions

You can view the recognitions that have been given to you.

  • Step 1: Navigate to Classes (at the bottom) and select the class you wish to see details for.
  • Step 2: To see the recognitions, expand the Recognitions menu. Select one of the recognitions to see more details. This will show you all of the instances that recognition has been given.
  • Step 3: Select a specific instance to see any note that the teacher may have written when the recognition was given.

Email a Teacher

You can email your student's teacher by going through the following process:

  • Step 1: Navigate to Classes (at the bottom) and select the class you wish to send an email to the teacher for.
  • Step 2: Select the teacher's email address just under the class icon. This will automatically open up your email app.

Settings

In Settings, you can:

Change the mastery setting you are viewing:

  • Select Mastery Setting.
  • Choose the desired mastery setting, then select Done.

Change the grading period you are viewing.

  • Select the school.
  • Choose the grading period you want to view, then select Done.

Log Out

  • Select Log Out.
