Setting Up Your Account

Welcome to Otus!  In order to log into your account, go to  Once there, if your school has Gmail, Clever, or Microsoft logins (If you aren't sure, ask your teacher), click on the corresponding button and log in with your existing username and password.

If you can't log in with Google, Clever or Microsoft, click Create a New Account.

Fill in the form to create your account.  If you have a school email, be sure to create your account with that email.
Note: Passwords must contain at least 8 characters, one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, and one number.

Once you've created your account, you should automatically be logged in for the first time, and you'll see a blank screen with a button that says Join Class.  All teachers using Otus will have a specific class code for each of their classes.  Once you have that code, click Join Class, and enter that code.

If you added the correct code, you should see the class pop up immediately in your Classes section.  If you click on the class tile, you can see what your teacher has posted on the class board for the day.

Taking an Assessment

To take an assessment, click on the Assessments module.

You will see a list of all assigned assessments in all of your classes.  To look at your assignments in a specific class, you can use the drop-down menu to switch between them.

In order to take the assessment, click the row of the assessment you wish to take.  Keep in mind, though, that once you click Submit at the end of your assessment, you won't be able to go back and view your answers until after the assessment is graded.  If you want to leave your work and come back to it, just navigate to another page, the assessment will be auto-saved.

To view your grades, click Gradebook. Then select the class.

With this view, you can look at your class totals if you select one of the class rows. From here, you'll see a breakdown of your scores on each assessment in that class.

If your school grades with standard mastery, you can click on the Standards tab to view your standards gradebook.

Viewing Bookshelf Resources

To view bookshelf resources shared with you by your teachers, click on the Bookshelf icon on the left side of the screen.

You can use the bookshelf to store websites or files within Otus for you to come back to or share with others.  Your teachers will also be able to share bookshelf resources with you so you can easily see all of your materials in one place: Otus!

You can use the drop-down to view specific class resources.

If you wish to view resources you uploaded yourself, you can click My Bookshelf.  If you log in through a Google account, you can also click on the Google Drive button to access the files in your Google Drive.
