  • If the assignment is Turned In and there is no due date

  • If the teacher has manually set this as the status

Excused

  • If the teacher has manually set this as the status

“Empty”/No Status

  • The status is only blank/empty if the assignment is not submitted and not graded

Excused & Excluded Status Rules

  • Not taken into account in the final grade in any of the 4 Gradebooks or Report Card

Missing & Late Status Rules

  • The Missing and Late statuses are only ever used when a due date is involved. (The only exception to this is if the teacher manually sets one of these as the status.)
  • Missing is a status that, when the assignment is Not Started or In Progress, is displayed on the front end only. This status only gets saved in the database if the teacher manually sets it.

“Include score in final grade?” & Excluded Status Rules

  • New Assessments: If “Include in final grade?” is OFF, statuses become “Excluded”
  • Editing “Assign Settings”:   If “Include in final grade?” is ON, statuses become “On Time” IF they are already set to “Excluded”. So, if the teacher has manually changed one to “Late” (for instance) it will not change to “On Time”  If “Include in final grade?” is OFF, statuses for all associated student assessments will then have the “Excluded” status
  • “Manage Assignees”:  If a new student is added to the assignment, the “Include in final grade?” state is checked and if it is OFF, the newly created student assignment will have a status of “Excluded”

Edit Gradebook, Teacher Gradebook, Student Gradebook, Family Gradebook
